Evergrow: CarltonOne’s New Product Launch

A new employee recognition product for the SMB market, combining loyalty rewards with tree-planting to fund climate impact.

CarltonOne, an established leader in enterprise employee engagement, saw an opportunity to bring a version of its offering downmarket to SMBs, with a twist: a product that paired everyday employee recognition and rewards with real-world environmental impact, funding tree-planting through everyday usage.

As part of the Product Development and UX team, I helped lead the discovery process: research, user mapping, and journey mapping to understand how SMBs think about employee rewards differently than the enterprise clients CarltonOne normally serves. That research also informed a structured naming process, landing on “Evergrow,” evoking both evergreen growth and environmental renewal.

From there, I led a team of designers in building out the product’s brand identity, spanning the marketing website and collateral, while also iterating on the in-product UI and design system, including the recognition and redemption flows core to the product. Working closely with engineering, the team shipped an MVP within a few months, which drew a strong wave of pre-registrants and early beta users ahead of launch.

Result: A fully designed and shipped new product, from initial research through brand identity to a working MVP, that gave CarltonOne a credible new entry point into the SMB market.
